The Haveli has a historical significance of its own. During the erstwhile British rule, before independence, the Haveli was the headquarters of the Indian National Congress of Ajmer-Merwara. Ergo, it has been the mute spectator to many eminent freedom fighters and personalities like the
Father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi, Abdul Kalaam Azad, the sarhad Gandhi- Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan,
first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and many others. It was here that they stayed and deliberated on their moves for freedom
struggle.
